HOW IT ALL STARTED

Traffic jams + Cashews

I’m Chris, I live in Venice, CA — and I pee a lot. On a recent drive from LA to Baja to surf with friends, I hit an hours-long traffic jam with a full bladder and nowhere to pull over: panic started to set in, and peeing my pants in front of my dog was not an option.

In my moment of desperation, a ray of sunshine lit up the bag of Trader Joe's nuts I'd been eating, and I swear I heard a voice say: "Pee in this bag, Chris." So I did - and it worked so well I dumped it out and refilled it an hour later (I stay very hydrated, and it was a long drive).

I'm not just the founder of Gotta Pee - I'm also a customer: I've peed in bottles, bushes, wetsuits, even my pants. And as someone who always goes before leaving the house and sits in aisle seats, I can say with confidence: Gotta Pee Bags are a lifesaver.

THE GOTTA PEE BAG

Custom-designed for ease & convenience

DON’T BUY OUR PEE BAGS

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle — in that order

I accidentally solved a pee problem with a Trader Joe’s cashew bag.

Then I custom-designed Gotta Pee Bags for the job — size, ergonomics, material, and closure...

But if you’ve got plastic food bags lying around — by all means, reuse them as pee bags!

Plastic pollution sucks because it biodegrades way too slowly — but that same durability makes our bags easy to clean and reuse.

There’s no perfect non-plastic solution for emergency pees (yet). But we’re working on it.

In the meantime:

Reduce: Buy less plastic

Reuse: Reuse the plastic you already have

Recycle: Use products made from recycled plastic

WE ALL GOTTA PEE

Fun Pee Facts:

Pee Math

The average person pees 6–7 times a day.
That’s 2,500 chances per year to get caught without a bathroom, wishing you had a pee bag.

Don’t Hold It

Holding your pee for too long can stretch your bladder, weaken bladder muscles, and make it harder to fully empty later.

About one in two women and one in ten men will get a UTI in their lifetime, often triggered by holding pee or not staying hydrated.

Gotta Pee After Sex

It’s important for both men and women to pee after sex (within 15–30 minutes), especially for women.

Peeing helps flush out bacteria and reduces the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs).

Shy Bladder

Around 7% of people have paruresis, a condition where anxiety makes it hard to pee in public bathrooms.

Road Trips

Three out of four adults admit they’ve had to pull over on the side of the road to pee at least once during a road trip.

Festivals & Concerts

Surveys show nearly half of music-festival goers skip drinks to avoid bathroom lines.

And don’t get us started on gnarly porta potties, nasty bathrooms, and pee covered toilet seats.

Kid's Gotta Pee

Kids’ bladders are small, they can’t “just hold it,” and public restrooms aren’t always easy to use or available.
Also – it’s fun to pee in a bag.

Better safe than soggy!
